Knesset Watch
Knesset Watch is a scoresheet of the votes of Knesset members and government ministers on important issues relating to foreign policy, constitutional affairs and Israel's character as a Jewish state. Together these three issues define the major fault line between Right and Left in Israel.
The Knesset usually sits two sessions a year. A new issue of Knesset Watch will appear after each session, reporting on the legislative events of the session and compiling recent-session and cumulative scores for each politician and each party. Each issue includes an introduction and a brief analysis of the results. We are now producing Volume 2 of Knesset Watch, reporting on the 16th Knesset, elected in January 2003.
A Table of Contents appears after the title page. Knesset Watch's methodology is explained in the introductory material. The heart of Knesset Watch lies in the appendices, where the vote of every elected official on every relevant issue is recorded. Summary information is provided on other tables and charts.
For Internet use, all tables and charts have been concentrated in the accompanying Excel file. The most convenient way to view Knesset Watch is to download and print out the textfile, which makes reference to Excel charts where needed. The charts can then be viewed on the Net or downloaded, viewed or printed out. The charts "MK voting records" and "Party voting records" are best printed out in Landscape format, reduced to 65%.
